McKayla Marso: My interest in photography was inspired by a performing gig I landed on a cruise ship traveling to South America in the fall of 2009. The people, the landscapes and the historic European influenced architecture, inspired me to capture these beautiful countries in a way that I had never done before. After returning to NYC, I decided to turn my creative brain from architecture to fashion and faces. I find pure joy in capturing the heart of a person through their eyes...the gateway to their souls. I grew up in a small town in South Dakota and though I moved to the city 2 years ago, I will never forget where I came from and the people who taught me to always find the good in everyone. And what better way to to that than through a photograph? I have a big city ambition with a small town heart...as they say..."You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl..."
